EMDR Intensives in Nature or Online

An EMDR intensive can be a powerful resource for quicker healing. Intensives can be useful when you don’t have the ability to commit to weekly sessions, would like to recover quickly from a recent trauma, or travel frequently. There are also moments when we feel that we need larger chunks of time to confront the level of psychological pain that we are experiencing. When doing trauma and grief work, extended sessions can be extremely beneficial. When doing intensives, I also weave in other interventions as needed (parts work, mindfulness based interventions, nature connection, and psychodrama techniques.) I offer therapy intensives more locally at Seward Park in Seattle or Tolt MacDonald Park in Carnation, WA. They can also be set up as a retreat in other beautiful parts of Washington state. Lodging and meals are not included, but I may be able to assist with the planning. Additionally, over night camping is an option for EMDR intensives.

What it could look like

When doing EMDR intensives with clients, I usually offer 6 hours of therapy work plus take an hour lunch break. Below, you will find an example of what a first session may look like:

  • 9 AM - meet at the park, walk to a private location, strengthen internal resources, participate in mindfulness and nature based grounding

  • 9:45 AM- 12 PM- EMDR introduction and reprocessing

  • 12-1 lunch

  • 1-3:30 EMDR reprocessing

  • 3:30-4 finishing up with EMDR for the day and nature based grounding
